Such an important victory by a home athlete must be celebrated: congratulations to Maurizio Bormolini from all the Z Team!
As big fans of sport and snowboarding and as people from Livigno, we cannot let such an important victory go unnoticed.
On January, 10th Maurizio Bormolini - a home athlete - triumphed in Bad Gastein. He took his first victory in the Alpine Snowboard World Cup in the parallel slalom. In the qualifications, Maurizio achieved the best time and continuing with the exciting knockout challenges, in the final he prevailed over Alexander Payer, the host.
28 years old and his 74th career appearance on the highest circuit, Maurizio had already achieved three podiums on this track: two second places, one in 2016 and one in 2020, and a third place in 2018. Also in Bad Gastein, Maurizio had suffered a serious knee injury. A splendid revenge, therefore, that obtained on January, 10th!
