Helmets
Each e-bike requires a suitable helmet. In the city it will be sufficient to wear a light and ventilated model, while mountain biking, enduro and downhill bikes require extra attention to protect face and neck from falls and obstacles. On some models it is also possible to remove the chin guard transforming the helmet from full to front.

Backpacks and baby carriers
An excursion to the mountains by e-bike requires the use of an ad hoc backpack. If they are not essential for cycle tourism (and sometimes they are even not recommended, because they increase weight and make you sweat), for MTB and similar, backpacks are essential: the important thing is to choose a model with practical pockets for accessories, water bag and if necessary with integrated back protector.

Protections
Especially for downhill and enduro, protections for e-bikes are of primary importance. Knee and elbow pads can be in rigid or soft plastic: the former are suitable for those who only go downhill, the latter follow better the movement during pedaling. Other important protections are the full body bodices and the back protectors, always with soft materials that harden in the event of a collision and of course glasses and goggles with category S1 or S2 lenses.
